Sometimes a model completely takes you by surprise. My first impression was of a kinda cute, friendly girl. Well, she was that and more. First, she flat out photographs well. Also, most newer models are self-conscious and afraid to exaggerate poses. Jules, however, was born to model.

Two lights, reflectors only

For some reason, I’ve been exclusively using soft light lately. Medium softboxes, close in. Nice look, but a bit dull – especially if it’s all you do … Yesterday I promised myself to use reflectors (7″, came with the White Lightnings) only when I shot Lucy (see her lit by SBs here in an earlier post).
Setup was one light in front, generally within 30 degrees of straight-on, and one from behind/left. I like the harder, crisper look …
